I used to breed Poodles Steve as a side interest ...

Some colours you will pay upwards and over 5k now better than breeding Greyhounds as a comparison fo money you can earn .

10 cav females two male poodles will return you a very nice cash earn on top on training greyhounds every year i am surprised not many are into domestic breeding Steve

PS
There is a huge waiting list for all breeds currently and the pure breed breeders are not breeding as well under the present climate ..

Miny Foxies are selling upwards of 2k a pup and thats if you can get one ..

I am after a Miniature Pinscher bitch pup if you know of any breeders up your way Steve

Got 10 purebred Angus on the hobby farm Kev and a ripper bull calf which I'm planning on putting over them.

Thought about crossing Bulldogs and Shitzu's but couldn't come up with a decent name, stick with greys I think.

Gave up breeding kids (hope so anyway)

Hey Steve , Kev, I breed racing pigeons and if you google the most expensive racing pigeon you will find its possibly more expensive than the most expensive Greyhound ever? My mate has eight French Bulldog Bitches and hes own Stud dog bred from good lines and is having a ball. Have you seen what those little BRICK WALL chasers are WORTH. The pigeons are definitely worth money if your breeding to sell but I just breed my stock for other people to race as Im not in a pigeon club boundary.
I enjoy this , as it gives my birds a chance to perform and I always have an agreement to get the performed birds back for future stock. Its called having true friends and I have upgraded my stock immensely since going this way. I also enter one loft races for good prize money. There are many one loft races all over Australia. GOOGLE. CHEERS

pigeons ..A lot of old timers raced both back in the day .

I think it was a Chinaman who purchased a pigeon for 750k a few years ago .

Simon
Well maybe you can start your own breed with those two mate .

Angas are great cattle i lived on a 400 head Angus farm out at Yanathan years ago and the old farmer said to me that when selecting any Bull you must ensure he has Balls the size of coke cans above all over traits..

Interesting we have a topic presently running so i should add Testicle size to list .

How big are your Bulls tescticles Simon ...

Fantastic Dog the Cavs ..

How many years have you been breeding them for Mick .. Loyalty gentleness great little companions i had a lot over the years in my Boarding Kennels
Top 10 best dog breeds IMO.
I always wanted to get Cav Bitches to use with a Poodle its incredible what some people pay for cross breeds .

I like the fact that a Cav gives birth most times with ease good little broods most of them

I guess you hate my idea of using Cav girls with Poodle boys ....for a 5k result per pup ..lol

I understand Mick and i appreciate you are trying to enhance your bloodlines by breeding true to the breed ..

I seen Mick that Pure breed Cavs go anywhere from 2k to 6k per Pup .

Ditto from me with the pigeons.
Mick and I became friends a few years back when we posted about genetics in racing pigeons but in relation to greyhounds. Although we have never met face to face we are still mates to the point that we now own a greyhound together.

Common ground and interests mean a lot when it comes hobbies.

Old mate I raced dogs with previously was right into his pidgeon racing could always tell when his birds were cherry ripe to win they had a blue ring around their pupils. Reflected in his dog racing, anyone else look at dogs eyes to monitor health?

I actually visited a greyhound owner in China that paid 1,000,000 euro around $1,480,000 Australian dollars for 1 pigeon. His loft was something out of this world. He had it up 16 feet off the ground and had the type of vehicles that clean up the streets for his workers to drive underneath and pick up the droppings. I am not sure how long the coupe was but I would estimate 180 metres. I was there to look at his dogs which also looked emasculate but to be honest I was more interested in the pigeons as i raced them as a kid and his set up blew me away.

I breed and show purebred Cats , Ragdolls and previously Maine Coone and Selkirk Rex . I health test and desex all of my kittens.
I also have a Show Bred Borzoi who I hope to get to some shows with soon as I show one of my Race Bred boys.
I'm not sure I will ever breed my Borzoi girl even though she is bred in the purple , but maybe we will get to some shows.

Your assumption would be right Kev. As i said people that are into the old fkwit Don Burke type of designer dogs are really only in it for the $$$ & couldn't really give a fk about the breed at all. The most i have ever sold a pet pup for was 3k & that was like 16 months ago & we do screen who we sell to as best we can & Our line are never sold on main papers & normally have a contract signed. We even offer a part refund if proof of desexed. Each to there own i guess But we do it for the Love of the breed & hobby. Crazy hey to think we have so called welfare problems in the Greyhound Industry yet the anti's really should be cracking down on the puppy farmers out there. & leaving us Greyhound folk alone.

Sounds like the race they have from Alice Springs. Its approximately that distance and one of the longest still flown in Australia. Cheers
