Mighty old warrior Jesaulenko has done it again with another dominating win tonight at Sandown by taking out the Melbourne Cup Sprint $25k to the winner race & he showed just who the better dog really is between him & Ando's Mac, Congratulations Terri & family

Haha Branko , give it a rest . One got smashed at boxrise and one got clear running . Jezza is a great dog and was a good win last night . Mac is a dual group 1 winner and has also been in 4 other group 1 finals . I know which one who has the better resume .

Andos Mac would have to be regarded as the better of the two in my opinion

I backed Jezza last night a crazy odds.
Credit where credit is due its obvious the dog has had issues, but the trainers must have worked hard on him ( I dont know them)
Not sure how andos got involved in this but credit to his connections also far out he won last years Melbourne cup .........and lets be honest he wouldnt have if jezza didnt want to bite his face off.
Andos Mac Imo is a champion chaser!

May have went past , yes no doubt , though he wasn't interested in that was he . I might also point out it was Ando's mac 12th weekend in a row of racing contesting 6 group 1 heats in a row . He was a busted animal after the cup win , hence his month off . Amazing training job it was to keep him up at the top level for so many weeks in a row .

I have nothing against Ando's Mac as a race dog,i admit he's very good but his Cup win last year was pure luck
IMO as Jesaulenko should've won it if he didn't have a brain snap LOL,Ando's Mac recorded 1 of the slowest times for a melb cup winner of the past 9 years,Jesaulenko's times of 29.67 @ The Meadows & 29.13 @ Sandown shows he's the faster dog of the 2 of them.

Mac has ran 29.65 , 29.66 , 29.69 , 29.72 Wentworth park . At 19 months old he ran 25.04 at Ballarat . 21 months old he was in his first group heat and ran 2nd at only his 6th start . has ran 29.82 Albion park 29.61 Angle Park first look in a race . 29.96 meadows when it was -1 degree . 29.29 sandown 4 weeks ago . ran down Aston Bolero in 25.48 to win Warragul cup . In my eyes Mac is a champion and has changed our lives . Mac's record reads 57 starts 27 wins 14 group finals . Two group 1 wins , One group 2 win .earning $ 675,000 in prizemoney . To say lucky to win a Melbourne cup is an insult . I can assure you wining a Melbourne cup is not luck . It's why it's the pinnacle of our sport . The dedication put into Macs cup win was simply amazing as it took him 3 weeks to re adjust to the boxes again . He was busted after his heat win . Any other race as Jason said the dog would have been scratched . Jason done an incredible job fixing him up to even just be In the final let alone winning it . Anthony azzopardi was a huge help in winning the cup too it's why I repaid him by sending the dog to him when he ran out of races in NSW . If that's lucky well I must have a different opinion on luck . Sorry Jezza to ruin your thread your an incredible animal and deserve the accolades you receive as well .

Like I said before I have nothing against Ando's Mac,I was just stating a fact in regards to his melb cup winning time, I'm not disputing Ando's Mac's talent or his status as a champion,I already knew about the fantastic times he's run at Wentworth Park,Albion Park etc, your reminder wasn't needed LOL,Jason Mackay & Anthony Azzopardi are excellent trainers,I was just stating Jesaulenko is a faster dog.

Actually you said who was better, and Ando's would be better to most people's assessment, taking into account not only speed, but traits...

Jezza is fast, but can be one hell of a worry.

Fastest means nothing at stud. Darren McDonald had some of the fastest dogs which never made it to stud because they weren't good enough.

Jesaulenko is a super dog we would all love to have him in our kennel. But stats tell us Ando is far superior to Jezza

Jezza raced in town roughly 23 of 80 odd starts for 7 wins only. A poor record for a stud dog.
Jezza has two failing to chase tickets not good on your stud page. I wouldn't risk using him for that reason alone.

Now Ando raced 40 from 50 odd starts in town for about 18 wins he raced in 3 states and fair to say he would have raced against the best in town.

Both great dogs and good luck to both at stud one has a big cloud over his head if he throws that into his pups boy there will be a lot of unhappy owners for me a risk to big.

A "veteran" wins a group race and the knockers are still out... Go figure.

Knockers?? Who's knocking this dog Rich? Funny how people with stud dogs don't like comments on a public forum....

People are entitled to there opinions on a public forum.

Like I said earlier Jzza a super dog but imo I think Ando is better race dog and will probably throw hard chasers.

Nothing at all to do with stud dogs, that's just a stupid comment! I just reckon it is a great effort to get a veteran race dog into a group race, let alone win one when most dogs that age are laying on a couch.

I would have no problems using Jezza at stud.
His lines are beautiful and he comes from a successful litter.
The only reason I didn't use him was because I dont think any first season stud is worth more than a thousand.
In this climate, there will be many studs flopping due to their introductory price.
But I'm a huge fan of Jezza. Also of Mac but I'm not sure why this thread has become a 'whos best'

Don't see many College Causeway or Milldean Panthers racing or breeding in Ireland. Super race dogs, not as good breeders. No doubting Jesaulenko's ability.
