In making this announcement the management of Drumbo Park are very aware of the challenges facing the industry in Northern Ireland not just for the stadium itself but for local Owners Trainers and Breeders. Stakeholders however should be always mindful that we receive no government funding like our southern counterparts and all prize money paid must be generated from within the business operations .
The Stadium would also like to thank the work carried out by the local Track Supporters Club whose work over the last few years since formed - especially in the area of obtaining sponsorship for the stadium has been extremely appreciated.
It is hoped that this increase in Prize money will show managements continued commitment to improving racing at Drumbo Park, and that our loyal owners will continue to support us in the future by perhaps investing in runners for the track, for without the raw material we have no industry
Yours in Sport

Great to see click, was at trials this morning boys were closing doors an hour and half early! No trials booked. How do you get the dogs back to Drumbo? I see on data half a dozen Drumbo dogs for sale. What about trial sessions free for a couple of weeks? To get numbers through the door. Trial sessions before racing! Instead of adding to price money that will only affect 50% of owners why not free entry for all dogs, that will affect 100% of owners. I dont run at Drumbo for prize money ( track cant compete with southern tracks) A dog should win 1/4 -1/5 depending on grader, so out 50 plus your fuel x5 times per win. Me personally it is what I can save not win. Just a few suggestions mate, good to see some sort of positive news

Can someone please tell me why northern tracks dont get help from igb. I have asked this question to people high up in igb but have never got a satisfactory answer yet... we as owners and trainers at these tracks still have to pay the igb to name our dogs transfer of ownership, marking up of pups, this list goes on and on...the igb are trying to tell us that we are not part of their greyhound family, that we are outcasts... to me i feel totally discrimated against... everyone that races in our tracks should put a comment on this thread and let the igb know THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH... we want treated equal up here. P.S well done to track manegment and supporters club for trying ur best, we know ur hands are tied
What can be done lads? They want to wash theyre hands of the north, have an independent board in the north to run things. If that happens thats the end of dog racing in Northern Ireland

Are you all unaware that the south takes all they can get from the North/UK and never repays a penny back. IMHO dont expect anything and greyhound racing in the North should be controlled and financed by GBGB.

I agree all the good stuff is being done but should we have a AGM as its nearly 2 years since the club was formed i thought all clubs had an AGM .? That way it can be put to the members of the way to go.
BOBBY THIS CLUB IS WORKING HARD TO GET ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS YOU AND EVERYONE AT DRUMBO WANTS THE ANSWERS TOO, WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN ANSWERS THAT WE FOUND UNEXCEPTIBLE TOO BUT WE ARE STILL PROBING IN THE BACKGROUND, I THINK THE BONUS IN THE DERBY FOR UK RUNNERS EXCLUDING N.IRELAND WAS AN INSULT,ARE THEY SAYING THE NORTH IS IRELAND NOW BUT WHEN IT COMES TO FUNDING WE ARE IN THE UK ?
GOING BACK TO THE INCREASED PRIZEMONEY I BELIEVE JOHN CONNOR AND MICHAEL MCADAM DESERVE ALL THE CREDIT FOR THIS, JOHN HAS CAMPAINED LONG AND HARD TO GET IT AND MICHAEL AGREED, THE INVESTMENT MR MCADAM HAS PUT INTO DRUMBO DESERVES THE SUPPORT OF EVERYONE IN THE NORTH THAT OWNS OR TRAINS DOGS.

NO HARM MICHAEL BUT YOU ARE A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHY THE SOUTH WANT TO WASH THEIR HANDS OF NORTHERN TRACKS, I SAY THINGS AS I SEE THEM AND MY OPINION AS TO WHY THEY DONT WANT OUR TRACKS IS THEY CAN PUT MORE PRIZEMONEY INTO RACES AND NORTHERN GREYHOUND MEN TRAVEL, SOUTHERN TRACKS HAVE NORTHERN DOGS.
I AM NOT BLAMING ANYONE WHO RACES AT SOUTHERN TRACKS BECAUSE I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE MAKE A LIVING OUT OF GREYHOUNDS I AM ONLY GIVING MY OPINION AS TO WHY THE SOUTH DONT SEEM TO WANT TO HELP NORTHERN TRACKS

I think igb would be legally obliged to fund all tracks in Ireland if legal advice was sought. As Bobby pointed out earlier they are good at taking your money for Naming pups, change of ownership ect;ect; but when it comes to funding Derry and Drumbo you are on your own. A good lawyer in my opinion would sort it out in no time.

THATS HOW I SEE THINGS

When the runner incentive scheme was brought in whereby if you have 100 runners from April to April they pay you 800 euros. I phoned igb getting towards the deadline to ask them how many more runners I needed to qualify for the 800 euros. They told me you would have been almost there but for the runners you had at Drumbo which do not count towards the scheme and will need be deducted. Think it's near time they where challenged.

I see two disagree with what i have said. Can those two people please explain to me what they disagree about because i am confused. Do they think I'm making up lies or do they think igb shouldn't be challenged? Please clarify what you are disagreeing about. Or maybe it's just someone who likes hitting buttons for the fun of it.
When pascal taggart got the 96.000 few years bck as a token gesture to help tracks in the North at that time ie Ballyskeagh, Dungannon and the Brandywell I no it helped enormously for racing in the North surely even with Dungannon now closed to award Drumbo Pk & Brandywell 96.000 towards funding per year would only be a fraction of annual levys which r paid its discrimination at the highest there is diffently a case there to be honoured but sure the South probably use Brexit as next excuse
