WHAT I CAN ANNOUNCE IS THAT TONIGHT 65 PEOPLE PAID THEIR 5 AND ARE NOW PAID UP MEMBERS AND OTHERS WHO WISH TO JOIN CAN SEE ME AND I WILL TAKE THEIR FEE AND PUT YOU ON THE PAID UP MEMBERS LIST.

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SHOW OUR APPRECIATION TO JOHN WHO STAYED ON TO LET THE MEETING TAKE PLACE IN THE OWNERS CABIN AND KINDLY DONATED 2 TICKETS TO NEXT WEEKS IRISH DERBY FINAL TO THE CLUB.

THE CLUB WILL BE KNOWN AS DRUMBO TRACK SUPPORTERS CLUB SO EVEN PEOPLE WHO DONT OWN A DOG BUT STILL WISH TO SUPPORT THE TRACK CAN DO SO.

THE 2 IRISH DERBY FINAL TICKETS WILL BE AUCTIONED OFF ON SATURDAY NIGHT AT DRUMBO AND THE SUM RAISED WILL GO INTO THE D,T,S,C, FUNDS.

MInutes of meeting Drumbo Track Supporters Club 6th September 2016 @ Drumbo Park.

INTRODUCTION :

Click Cowan introduced meeting and thanked everyone for coming. He outlined reason for setting up club to try and encourage greyhound owners at drumbo park.via providing additional prize money on a weekly basis for club members , sponsoring competitions for club members on a regular basis and being a collective voice for Drumbo Park Greyhound owners..

ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS AND COMMITTEE:

Click opened the floor to nominations for office bearers posts . The following were agreed:

Chairman : Click Cowan :Proposed:Jackie Craig Seconded :Will Berry
Treasuer:KIeran Connolly : Proposed Paddy McDonagh,Seconded:Sam Gibson
Secretary:no volunteers at present .

Committee Members: the following agreed to serve on the committee:

DISCUSSIONS:

The following was discussed:

(A)Club Constitution: Group agreed constitution to be put in place asap. Kieran Connolly agreed to draft constitution and place in tea room in Drumbo for comment by members before adopting.

(B) Club Fundraising : A number of ideas were put forward for fundraising , including ballot for meal in restaurant (provided by track on monthly basis), club lotto on 3 races at Drumbo ,weekly raffle between members etc. A minimum of 100 per week will be required to be raised to support the clubs aim of providing an additional 50 prize money for members for 2 races each week.

(C). Control of club funds:

In the interests of transparency it was agreed a bank account would be opened in clubs name and all funds raised on a weekly basis lodged in the account . Two cheques per week would be issued from account to winning club members of allocated races. The account would require two signatories Kieran Connolly (Treasuer) and Tommy McGovern was nominated as co signatory. Kieran Connolly to open account for club before next meeting .

( D) Club Sponsored Competitions:

Group agreed that all club sponsored sweepstakes would be for members only .The Grade and conditions of competition to be agreed amongst group.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING:

Agreed further meeting to be held in one months time once club is further established

MEMBERS REGISTRATION :

Click invited those in attendance who wanted to join group to register their names and pay 5 membership fee. A total of 65 members were registered on the night.Any further new members to come through Click Cowan.

I WILL BE AT DRUMBO IN THE TEA CABIN ON FRIDAY FOR ANY ONE ELSE WISHING TO JOIN, I HOPE THE 104 PEOPLE WHO SIGNED THE BOOK SUPPORTING THE IDEA IN THE 1ST PLACE COME AND SIGN UP AND MANY MORE JOIN. 65 MEMBERS AND 100% SUPPORT FROM THOSE IN ATTENDANCE, NOT 1 PERSON THAT ATTENDED DIDNT JOIN SHOWS WE ARE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT.
