We are getting closer to sanity and the proper research that would have saved millions!

FEI have amended cobalt rule- Lee and Shannon Hope have Derek Major (FEI vet) on board and now we will see some evidence based truth come into the public arena re cobalt.

About time. Cheers

I really hope the FEI publishes detailed scientific tests proving cobalt is not performance enhancing.
THAT is what it will take for any real hope of changing the ridiculous rules we have in place.
THEN the Australian authorities need to do their OWN studies and exempt all treatments that are used for the health of the Greyhound, ie: B12, Iron, Coforta etc.
I'd imagine a safe threshold of around 400ngs would be more a realistic level...better still, scrap the whole rule on natural cobalt!

As a side note...
I have wondered for a long time how the integrity of swab taking can be upheld when the swabbing staff wear no protective sterile clothing, ie: disposable plastic aprons???
It's 2018, an age of nasty drugs that are at epidemic proportions.
Everything you touch today has the potential to be contaminated with some kind of drug from previous handlers.
I walk into the supermarket and buy some oats...how many people touched that packet before me? The packer high on ice working for a few bucks to buy his next hit?
Think about it...money, fuel pumps, food, door handles, and on and on and on and on....

Swabbing staff wear their day clothes and take swabs?...what happens if the ladle touches their clothes after they have done the control sample?
A microscopic amount can be detected in a sample and that is enough for a positive.

Has there ever been a defence put forward on these grounds?
If not, then why not?

There has in recent times been positives for ICE.
From what I have heard, it is a diabolical drug that makes some people rip out their own eyes...you would think if a dog was given enough of it to change its demeanour, it would be going spastic and trying to devour its own legs, hardly a focusing drug?
Who the hell would give it to a dog INTENTIONALLY anyway?!?!?!

Just some wee thoughts...

The Hope cobalt case is still up in the air, however I saw this piece of info and it demonstrates how wrong these Integrity Dept's/Chief Vets have got it. It is a demonstration of a their (Police view) focus of got ya!

Also just finished Peter Moody's 2nd book. The final chapters about his case and others, is very interesting. Like I have said many times, the resignations of the Chair, CEO, Chief Vet, Integrity Chief, Chief Steward of RVL is not a coincidence.

Thanks for posting that, Charles...interesting.
Pity I couldn't read the whole article but I get the idea.
