these country cups should only except noms from locals , outsiders should have to race say 15/20 times at the track to be eligible,

a win by a local is spent locally , and thats good

I sort of agree Mick but there's no 'Sort of Agree' button so I'll have to explain.

I don't mind seeing the best of the best racing in 8 heats/final and I think the best dogs deserve to race for the best $$$$.

But I do like the idea of having a 'local' cup run at the same time.
So your idea of 15 starts at the track, or maybe 6 starts in the last 10 weeks, is a good one.
And make it worthwhile. The main cup is worth $45k then make the local cup worth $22.5k.
It would give local people a reason to buy pups. It would give owners a reason to send their good dogs to smaller trainers.
It would give the whole mood of the industry outside of Lara and Pearcedale, a boost.
