Great point Shane - this was possibly one of the most damaging takeaways. (Of course, I am not minimising the footage at all - those poor scared pups - heartbreaking. If I found out someone did that to a dog of mine, or I saw someone treating a dog like that I would end up in jail for assault and intent to cause grievious bodily harm - seriously. But those comments from Miss Expert Greyhound Trainer - Complete and utter ,total bull shit BUT the public dont know that....and she came across as quite convincing, sounding like it was just common knowledge!!
Just so ridiculous, it makes me FURIOUS!!...
I would love to be able to have a sitdown discussion with her and find out where she gets her "information "from. Its actually slanderous making up such bullshit, purely outright lying to further her own agenda.
Besides the obvious gross shame of animal abuse on the greyhounds , another concern is who obtained the evidence ?
If it was integrity, why wasnt it dealt with earlier and in-house ? And if it wasnt integrity, why wasnt it , isnt that what we are paying them millions for ! Either way its a loss loss the whole way round .
At a guess in the long run of yet another transition , will be complete loss of privacy on property with the compulsory input of home cameras with 24 hour surveillance at hand .

Again, the law doesnt differentiate! Because, whether you own a PET or race a greyhound. Were all citizens doing legal activity! Dont make it something its not! Its animal abuse and needs to be dealt with as such. Not have the whole greyhound industry held accountable and considered special thats BS!

I very much agree with Nathan's sentiments. Finger pointing won't be a valid defence. Saying it's only a small minority, also doesn't excuse what has happened. We just have to be better.
I couldn't believe the hoops I had to jump through to get a breeders licence recently. It's situations like these where I 100% agree and understand the tough stance QRIC are taking.

Nathan, just after the ban in 2016, the NSW Government drafted up legislation, with many reforms to the pet industry. But, because of the hypocritical antis they all whinged it wasnt fair on the honest people and the NSW Government scrapped the legislation for fear of voter backlash.
The NSW Government only way to save face after repealing the ban, was to inflict GWIC on us. Then all the other states followed suit.

Like I said before , bring in jail zero tolerance for any physical mental abuse and if unexpected drones are legal at present , take them out of play and input your own cameras on all designated greyhound areas on property that abolishes the use of drones on any registered 24 hour surveillance properties ! Whats anyone got to hide ?
No one on the offensive side would have a rebuttal that could potentially jeopardise the industry in the future !

Nathan, GWIC arent the law. The law doesnt differentiate. Whether you admit it or not, youre never going to stop animal cruelty and drug cheats. Humans are a flawed species, doomed to repeat history century after century. Thats right across the board in society. Look at performance enhancing drugs in human sports.
While, I agree Its how we deal with them internally and then refer them on for any criminal prosecution. My question is, what publicity or legal action do our authorities do to counteract that with the general public
Their cruelty is absolutely inexcusable, and they shouldn't be allowed to be involved with any animals at all, let alone greyhounds
Imagine if there was a Facebook group called 'Countering lies about Greyhound Racing' with 100K members. There would be an email sent to Channel 10 demanding an instant retraction. If that fails, emails to Channel 10 advertisers advising that we will boycott their products. And then actually have the fortitude to boycott. Even if that means KF bloody C. This is how the radicals operate. They don't sit back and wait for 'authorities' to do the work. It's probably the job of the GOTBA's to do that anyway.
I'm no fan of Facebook but decided yesterday to sign up and promote the sport and the breed that I love.

It's a great initiative Sandro. But while we still have parasites like the Murray's and the people the Rasmusen's employed involved in the industry, it will be impossible to save the sport we love. We need to weed them out. I heard people bitching about the recent QRIC crack down, where they asked members of the industry to "dob in" any wrong doers. That's exactly what we need to do. We won't need to defend the industry if we aren't doing anything wrong and that is the crux of the problem. If we take away the antis ammunition they use against us, we take away their power. I know full well it's a tiny minority of the game that are involved in these terrible crimes and the vast majority do the right thing. But it's still obviously there. It's up to us to be better.
