Doing some race planning & noticed Taree has no meetings listed after 4th October for this year & next.
No doubt there is a simple explanation at least I hope there is?

Hey Grant as Mark said they are closing to build the new super track which will be great for the region. They are saying it will only be a four to five month build so fingers crossed all goes well. Wauchope has been granted some meetings from November through to January which will also include the Butch Monkley Maiden Id imagine. Its a shame this track could not be retained as a TAB track but thats another story. Cheers

Hope, at the very least, it will be retained for trialling and education in the region

Hi Sandro,

A campaign to have some non-TAB meetings at Wauchope was successful with Wauchope receiving meetings in November / December this year. No further dates have been provided to Wauchope to cover Taree whilst it is being renovated. It's better than nothing (non-TAB meetings) I guess. It will revert back to a trial track if meetings aren't provided after December. They didn't even have the courage to provide TAB meetings because they don't want Wauchope to be a racing track; only a trial track.

Mick,

It's funny you say Super Track. I know you are only quoting from elsewhere, but hopefully at least it will be just another good track. Grafton and Muswellbrook are not Super Tracks, with Grafton being far superior to Muswellbrook.

Taree was under the previous government, selected to become a centre of excellence. Unfortunately we now have the greens and labor in gov, so taree will now only get a new sand track, & straight slipping track, the grandstand has now been scrapped
