Can someone who is smarter than me (and there are heaps out there) explain why our boy Father Rick was only drawn as a reserve in the Sir John Dillon Memorial 595m on Saturday at Sandown?

Last start winner of middle distance championship at Dapto after winning his heat in .04 off track record.

Wont beat Richmond this Sunday

EXTERNAL LINK
401 mtr 5th grade race with one 4th grader (160k in prize money ) put infront of 5th grade reserves whilst theres a 3/4th grade on with an empty box ???

EXTERNAL LINK
And they wonder why the sports up shit creek in nsw , why would u even turn up ! Should let him go around solo

Ill say it again for the 100th time . No 5th grader should ever race a 4th grade dog

Father Rick has 24 wins which makes you FFA everywhere in NSW and most other states however in Melbourne at Provincial meetings you are grade 4.

Now city racing scale, you are a 5th grade dog

Of the grading for the field
13 dogs were nominated, 3 of those were low ranking noms. So realistically 10 dogs available to be in the field

Father Rick is a Grade 5 for this race (crazy but somehow true)

Andre Bale, Minter Frost & Hector Frawley Grade 1
Great Guy, Jackpot Joan Grade 3
Multi Mat is Grade 4
The other Grade 5 dogs are Victa Damian, Professional Snitch and your boy Father Rick

Grade 1,2,3,4 priority over higher number grading

On the Victorian Points system this is where you were unlucky with Damian ranking 121, Snitch 126 and Father Rick 132 points

Caribou Bale had 173 points
Points system based off on a scale of last 8 or 10 starts

Truthfully stiff not to make the field
Hope you get a run
